Daring the Unthinkable is set in the late 1800s in Montgomery, Missouri. I have read several books by this author and most of the books have been set in some part of Missouri which I have grown to love. This faith-based book takes you on a journey that you never thought you needed. 

Daring the Unthinkable is about one woman's selflessness and trust in God. Rachel Atkinson, is a young woman who by society's standards, during this time period, should be married with a house full of children. Instead, she goes on a journey that allows us to see her faith in God and also God's promise to never leave us nor forsake us in action. On this journey, we are introduced to her family, which consists of 4 sisters and her parents; Mr. and Mrs. Payne, a wealthy family who hires Rachel to take care of 2 siblings; and Hal Brevin and his family.

Through Rachel's selflessness and trust in God to make a way out of no way, we in turn see how her faith and dependence on God help to bring the Payne family back to God and build their foundation on solid rock and not shifting sands. We see Rachel take on responsibilities that most at her age would not know how to handle. Finally, we see God work through her own family members' lives, especially her sister Suzanne. We see family, friends and loved ones band together to help lift each other up when in need. 

Although Rachel experienced a lot of trials and tribulations, she never lost faith in God. That Faith led her to forgive those that would do her harm, from her ex-beau to even someone close to her spreading a rumor that almost ruined her.

In the end, she got the desires of her heart, even if by Society's standards she did everything backward.

Despite some grammatical errors in the book, it did not take away from the message being presented. I truly hope you decide to buy this book, as I did, and be inspired by the message presented to step out on faith trusting in God to guide your every footstep.

While reading this book the first thing that came to mind was a scripture. That scripture, in my opinion, sums up this whole entire book. That scripture is Ephesians 6: 12 " For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."(KJV). Valor's Vigil by Hallee Bridgeman

This is the 8th and final book the Virtues and Valor series. Although I had a little trouble reading through this book, I did enjoy learning more about the other characters through Valor's point of view and learning more about Valor's family and upbringing.  In this book you get more background on Charlene Radden who we discover is actually married to Leopold Schafer codenamed Valor's father. Their storyline in the prologue was definitely intriguing! Throughout the book you get glimpses of the toll Valor's cover had taken on him. You also see how Valor overcomes those challenges in order to do what needed to be done to assist in ending the war. You also get to know the Virtues better and the men who assisted them during their undercover work. I love how Hallee in the Epilogue gave us a more in depth look at how Temperance was effected during her time as a Prisoner of War. Valor's story put to rest a lot of unanswered questions that may have came to your mind

Love's Eternal Breath by Naomi Rawlings

After Reading the 4th installment in the series, Love’s Eternal Breath…all I can say is..bravo. I loved it from beginning to end…The unexpected twists and turns especially when the odds are against Lindy, she thinks she is dying like her mother and she can't trust doctors any more, but she was steadfast, charitable, and just an all around wonderful woman. She overcame so much and was able to take a breath that lasted a lifetime indeed especially with Seth. The town was very interesting. Like any rural area everyone knows everyone and the old time doctor is the one that is trusted. It was the same in the book except the good old doc had a challenger in Seth. I love how God was with both Seth and Lindy helping to guide them on their journey. I love hwo this book showcases Love truly does heal all especially with God in the mix. Flight of Faith by Hallee Bridgeman

In the 7 th installment of the Virtues and Valor series we see a somewhat conclusion occur, although later the 8 th installment rounds up this series. We are introduced to Helen Mulberry codenamed Faith who is a young American pilot. She has spunk, a kind heart, and a will that is amazing. Through out her story you see her mature and come into her own. She truly has a heart of gold that makes you fall in love with her character.  Just so you are prepared…you will need a pack of tissues at the ready for Chapter 8. It caught me off guard but in away that was truly needed. A lot that happened in the other novellas(1-6) comes full circle. You will cry tears of joy and sadness then tears of joy again! In the end you see everyone come together, you see identities revealed, who each were before the war began and code names given.
