The Color of the Soul by: Tracey Bateman

Image
This book is considered Historical Fiction.  I love how it interweaves flashbacks tying together lose ends that you would never have thought were there. A reporter is sent to take the memoirs of an old southern woman who it turns out she is in relation to him although he is African American.  As you read through the different parts of this story you will see how some tension still remains even as this reporter tries to dig deeper into his own family background not knowing that he is in the center of it all. It tells how God shows mercy and redemption while also healing family bonds. I pray that your soul is blessed as you read through Author Tracey Bateman's book The Color of the Soul and in return maybe you may want to go beyond what is in front of you to the God-point of the novel.

Summer Meadows Mystery Series 4-in-1 by: Cynthia Hickey

As always I love a good mystery mixed with a little romance and I guarantee you Summer Meadows will not disappoint. In Fudge-Laced Felonies we go on a journey of finding out who a thief is, who loves who, and most importantly we see how God gives us the strength to overcome our fears for the greater good. That is exactly what Summer did. In Candy-Coated Secrets we are taken into the going ons of a cardinal where although this time Summer did not seek a mystery it found her. At first I was confused as to why someone was out to hurt her but then everything that you thought you knew was dismissed as you got closer to the ending. The ending will leave you speechless and wanting to read it over again just to make sure you read it right the first time!! So hold on tight and read this amazing Christian Mystery because you will definitely thank me later for bringing this book to your attention!! In Chocolate-Covered Crime it starts off with Summer planning her wedding like any other brid

A Hope Undaunted(Winds of Change Book #1) by: Julie Lessman

I absolutely positively LOVED this book actually!! The main character Katie will keep you laughing with her sass, independent mind set and goals.I can honestly say that this book kept me on the edge of my seat. A Hope Undaunted is so romantic with twists and turns that teaches life lessons. My favorite part was when one of the characters decided to become a priest, I mean it was SO ironic and not expected.!! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have.

Serena Wilcox Mysteries: Books 1,2 &3 by: Natalie Buske Thomas

I stumbled on this futuristic styled series a few nights ago and I do not regret purchasing it. It is a unique Genre but still Christian Fiction. The first book int he series is Called Gene Play and basically the author takes you on a journey that touches on premarital sex which results in a pregnancies which plays a major part in an elaborate con that will leave you speechless!! As you read Gene Play you will see how those who you thought were legit really are crooked. I love how the author weaves the story in a away that you as the reader can relate and feel as though you are right in the thick of things. Which leads right into the Second book in the series, Virtual Memories, where your reality might just be fantasy. I love how the characters form the first book rolls over into Virtual Memories. We see the different dynamics of the main character, Serena Wilcox, as she uses her skills to solve the case. Finally, The last book in this collection, Camp Conviction, shows how God let

The Jewel Anthology: Sapphire Ice, Greater Than Rubies, Emerald Fire, Topaz Heat by: Hallee Bridgeman

The Jewel Anthology is a collection of author Halle Bridgeman's Jewel series. The first book in the series, Sapphire Ice, gives the back story about the main characters in the other three books. They all are sisters, with different fathers. They also go through a trauma that carries on into their adulthood. The second book in the series, Greater Than Rubies, is about the eldest sister Robin. I have to say out of all the books her story was the most riveting. She was strong, loving, kind, and most importantly selfless. Meaning she put her sisters above her own needs and wants making sure they are taken care off regardless of the emotional, financial, mental strain it puts on her. We see her strengthen through out the book by the jobs that she holds, and how she stands up for herself even if she could possible lose her source of income. Through it all Robin preserves with God on her side knowing he will carry her through the rough times so that she will finally be filled with Joy.

A Melody For James written by Hallee Bridgeman

A Melody for James, what can I say except I truly LOVED this book! After I started reading this book  I could not put it down until the very end.  At first I was like what is going on in the beginning with James wife being killed because like normal people I always read the back cover for a synopsis of what to expect. Then as I was reading I saw how things tied together and how this invisible man was really someone really close to Melody. I also love how she overcame a domestic violence situation and in doing so she used that  to catapult herself into using her God-given gift, which was to sing. Then I admired how even in tragedy James decided to minister to the man that kidnapped his wife.  This particular scene emulates how we are suppose to forgive someone, not for their peace of mind but for our own salvation. Also, this taught me how the true and living God, by using tough situations and events, can use us as a beacon of light to minister to the unbelievers and evildoers!
