Daring the Unthinkable is set in the late 1800s in Montgomery, Missouri. I have read several books by this author and most of the books have been set in some part of Missouri which I have grown to love. This faith-based book takes you on a journey that you never thought you needed.  Daring the Unthinkable is about one woman's selflessness and trust in God. Rachel Atkinson, is a young woman who by society's standards, during this time period, should be married with a house full of children. Instead, she goes on a journey that allows us to see her faith in God and also God's promise to never leave us nor forsake us in action. On this journey, we are introduced to her family, which consists of 4 sisters and her parents; Mr. and Mrs. Payne, a wealthy family who hires Rachel to take care of 2 siblings; and Hal Brevin and his family.
