A Fear Not Blog Hop

So recently I have discovered this neat blog hop called "Fear Not Blog Hop". A group of Christian authors decided to get together and have a Christian spin on the upcoming Holiday by doing a give-a-way. This give-a-way will go from from October 25-31, 2013.

The list of authors include:  Samatha Fury, Shelley Hitz, Deborah Heal, Cynthia P. Willow, Mary C. Findley, Faith Blum, Jen Gentry, Ruthie Madison, Kelly Hagen, Kathryn Elizabeth Jones, and R. M. Strong.

So join in the fun, discover new christian authors, and remember  Are we supposed to take joy and pleasure in being scared, or are we supposed to Fear Not?

A Parcel for Prudence by Hallee Bridgeman

I  read Book 4 in the Virtues and Valor series. I love how the Author interweaves the previous books in with this one yet it can also be considered a stand-a-lone book. Muriel code name Prudence comes from an influential family so it was surprising to see her even participating in the war but thank God for God and the wisdom of her husband who told her to fight the war because she was more than just a pretty face but she has brains too knowing different languages. She is very instrumental by being a Currier for the British operatives on the ground. She proves herself to be more than just a British house wife but a soldier in her own right. I highly recommend this book and the previous books in the series.

Charity's Code by Hallee Bridgeman

In book 3 of the Virtues and Valor series Dorothy Ewing code name Charity is a character you cannot help but fall in love with from the start. She was a mother, wife but most of all protector of her family at homer especially when her husband had to go off to war. We see why her name is code named Charity, her generosity to her friend during the bombings at the beginning shows how good of a heart she has. From the prologue you get a sense of why the title of this book is Charity’s Code due to her deciphering the text of a crossword puzzle. Through prayer Dorothy stepped out on faith and accepted a job that would change the course of not just her life but her family as well as she uses the skills, we saw from the prologue to do her part to help. We see Charity go through the emotions of dealing with the war and how it is affecting her family and still have time to give encouragement and a listening ear to her sisters of Virtue. Daring the Unthinkable is set in the late 1800s in Montgomery, Missouri. I have read several books by this author and most of the books have been set in some part of Missouri which I have grown to love. This faith-based book takes you on a journey that you never thought you needed.  Daring the Unthinkable is about one woman's selflessness and trust in God. Rachel Atkinson, is a young woman who by society's standards, during this time period, should be married with a house full of children. Instead, she goes on a journey that allows us to see her faith in God and also God's promise to never leave us nor forsake us in action.
